Description | JOB TITLE: Finance Officer REPORTS TO: Finance Manager FUNCTION: Finance/Managerial LOCATION: Accra, Ghana CONTRACT: Full-time DATE: 2/20/2018
ROLE OBJECTIVE: We are recruiting an experienced Finance Officer for a reputable food manufacturing company based in Accra, Ghana. The Finance officer will work with the key management team in Ghana and is responsible for all financial aspects of the company, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, monthly management reporting, financial modelling and profitability analysis for the various product lines. The company’s aim is to fill the gap in the demand for locally-produced, affordable, and high-quality processed foods for the retail and food service sectors. They have a state-of-the-art production facility, located in Ghana, and have developed their own recipes for their proprietary products, including tomato ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard and salad cream. They have also attracted a co-manufacturing agreement with one of the world’s leading sauces and condiments producers to produce and supply their products into the West African market.
Key responsibilities include:
Bank and Petty cash management. Preparing and processing payments on Sage Evolution. Receiving, checking and recording all invoices on Sage Evolution.
Entry of recurring and one off journal vouchers for accruals and prepayments. Solving supplier queries and reconciling supplier statements.
Monthly reconciliations of accruals and prepayments in particular payroll and tax accounts. Ability to prepare and process correcting Journal Vouchers. Weekly bank and intercompany reconciliations
Regular debtor and creditor reconciliations including weekly reports to management Reconciliation of stock to bi-weekly stock-take. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports Assist with budget preparation Other tasks as may be assigned.
The Successful Applicant
3-5 years’ experience working in multi-company, manufacturing/processing businesses proven work experience as a Finance Officer or similar role Attention to detail. Thorough understanding of basic accounting procedures. Ability to work to high standards of accuracy. Understanding of ERP software and experience using real time ERP software. Sage Evolution experience an asset Excellent numerical skills Sharp time management skills Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data Good understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word and Microsoft Outlook Ability to follow company procedures and policies. Be able to work well under pressure and work to strict deadlines with minimum supervision
