MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
- Develop and execute a territory sales plan to grow volume and market share
- Manage channel and account strategies in the allocated territory, ensuring the best advantage for each channel/brand/category is achieved profitably.
- Build positive relationships with all customers through professional engagement, effective implementation of plans, ongoing support and regular feedback.
CORE FUNCTIONS:
- Implement a Wholesalers strategy and outline/definition for each group (i.e., Key, Tactical, Strategic Wholesalers) including relationship definitions.
- Successful execution of the business plans for key customers
- Successful implementation of sales functions such as selling, merchandising, account management, relationship building, presence and activations.
- Ensuring continuous improvement in distribution, merchandising, call coverage, efficient resource utilization from the distributors and other 3rd party agencies.
- Visiting all trade levels (on-trade, stockiest and supermarkets) to ensure brands are present, visible and activated according to the territory plan
- Ensure that the distributors and wholesalers are fully geared and capable of implementing the accounts strategy, terms and conditions and other best practice effectively. To provide support to ensure plans are well executed.
- To implement class of trade strategies for each brand as per Brand & TM guidelines
- Conduct weekly business review meetings with key stakeholders to discuss sales targets & KPIs, marketing initiatives, competitor activity and problem areas etc.
- Wholesaler and distributor stock in projections
JOB REQUIREMENT
Minimum Educational Requirement and Work Experience:
- A University degree or relevant tertiary qualification. Qualification in Commerce, sales and marketing is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years sales experience in the alcohol, FMCG, Beverage, medical or hospitality sectors
Competencies:
Commercial planning and execution, business intelligence, brand and portfolio management, experiential planning and activation, negotiation, creativity, influencing and partnering, drive for business results, financial acumen
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
- Computer literacy especially in Microsoft Office suite for report building is required
- A valid driver’s license
WORK PLACE ENVIRONMENT
Sales staff are required to follow their daily calling cycles as well as attend evening and weekend promotions/events.
