PURPOSE (the major objective of the position)
- Be responsible for taking client's advertising brief and generating original copy ideas that grab the attention of the target audience. This includes creating straplines, slogans, body copy, jingles and scripts.
DUTIES (the specific task expected of the job holder)
- Familiarize with product, target audience and competitor activities in the market
- Oversee concepts through the production stage to completion
- Produce original, clear and credible ideas/messages/scripts
- Monitor campaign effectiveness
- Generate workable concepts and ideas
- Write scripts for TV and radio productions
- Work with storyboard artistes to develop and finalize storyboards
- Ensure client needs are met satisfactorily and on schedule
- Develop creative ideas and concepts, often in partnership with the art director
- Oversee voice recordings to ensure it conforms to the script, mood and feeling
- Review progress, modify copy until the client is satisfied
Qualification
- First degree in a related field
- Masters in Communications is an added advantage
Experience
- Two to four years’ experience in copy writing or in a related field
Requirement
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
- Must have a proven track record in advertising and concept creation
- Sound understanding of advertising issues
