A reputable company is seeking to employ a Chief Strategy Officer to provide sound technical leadership in all aspects of it's business. The CSO will communicate with employees, stakeholders and customers to ensure the company's products are used appropriately.
Strategic thinking and strong business acumen are essential in this role.The company expect the CSO to be well-versed in current technological trends and familiar with a variety of business concepts.
Duties and responsibilities
- Operates as management team member in managing other offices in West Africa
- Articulates the company’s mission in a clear and concise way that can speak to customers and employees at all levels.
- Collaborates with senior management to devise effective short and long term plans.
- Creates actionable goals that make it possible to turn that mission into tangible results.
- Assesses the company’s many different projects from the products down to the daily administrative activities to make sure they align with the company’s goals.
- Analyses the success of products, projects, and activities
- Manages economic and financial viability of the company by using management strategies, financial accounting, human resource planning, customer relations, and implementation of new technologies.
- Communicates the company’s official stance on its mission to external sources and internally to all personnel.
- Discovers ways to increase revenue by eliminating wasteful practices and expediting product delivery.
- Leads and supports management in application and implementation of new policies and procedures.
- Represents the company in official functions.
- Develops new business opportunities by leveraging contacts, pursuing new product development, and improving project efficiency.
- Ensures compliance with all relevant laws, policies, and regulations.
- Develop technical aspects of the company’s strategy to ensure alignment with its business goals
- Discover and implement new technologies that yield competitive advantage
- Help departments use technology profitably
- Supervise system infrastructure to ensure functionality and efficiency
- Build quality assurance and data protection processes
- Monitor KPIs and IT budgets to assess technological performance
- Use stakeholders’ feedback to inform necessary improvements and adjustments to technology
- Communicate technology strategy to partners and investors
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Chief Strategy Officer or similar leadership role
- Knowledge of technological trends to build strategy
- Understanding of budgets and business-planning
- Ability to conduct technological analyses and research
- Excellent communication skills
- Leadership and organizational abilities
- Strategic thinking
- Problem-solving aptitude
- BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field; MBA or other relevant graduate degree is a plus
- Multi-lingual particularly French and English
