As Group Accountant, you are responsible for the overall custody and upkeep of the financial records, ensuring authenticity of those records in terms of accuracy and completeness in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS) /general accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and relevant internal and local laws of Ghana. You may be called upon to do ad hoc financial analysis in support of the in house Financial Analyst. Ensure Timely & Accurate Record Keeping/Reporting – Implement month end financial close process Migrate Accounting system into ERP and minimize manual or excel system of record keeping Supervise the preparation of monthly Bank reconciliation statements Create and maintain an accurate asset register for the group Provide an effective audit management systems of procurement and accounting records until audit function is separated from Accounting function Liaise with the financial Analyst as directed by Executive Head of finance to ensure that statutory filings related to GRS, first tier pension contributions, etc, are done in a timely manner Liaise with external auditors to ensure audit is completed in a timely and efficient manner, set meetings for audits, create a mutual beneficial relationship with external auditors Create a good relationship with all our bankers. Supervise the provision of daily bank balances, present a hard copy to head of finance to advise Put together a robust system to streamline external audit process, IRS requirements, bank information request and other regulatory requirement. Develop all financial templates for use Work with Head of finance to create policies and procedures for all accounting and finance processes Present actual at the end of every month, and specifically at quarter end and year ends and provide same to the financial Analyst for comparison with actual and analyzing variance Provide explanations to significant variance of actual and provide headlights and highlights on getting operations back on track. Prepare all financial statement including, but not limited to Income statement, cash flow and balance sheet as may be needed. Maintain accounts for all subsidiaries Create a consolidate financial statement under the supervision of head of finance Educate and or advise Head of finance on relevant tax laws and other regulatory requirements Ensure monthly depreciation is calculated on schedule and posted to general ledger Aging of debtors & creditors Allocation of payments to invoices and Monthly reconciliation of Invoices versus payments
